During Armed Forces Week, Combat2Coffee brought hundreds of the armed forces community together at Ipswich YM Rugby Club for the Bigger Breakfast — a morning built on recognition, connection and honest conversation. We were proud to sponsor it.
Why It Matters
The families behind those who serveBehind every person who serves is a family that serves too. They don’t wear the uniform, but they carry the deployments, the distance, and — too often — what comes home afterwards. Combat2Coffee calls them the silent heroes: the people who stand behind those who serve, and who rarely get recognised for it.
The weight it carries home with it
rarely makes the headlines.
That’s the gap the Bigger Breakfast closes. It’s a personal mission for patron Terry Butcher, whose son Christopher — an Army captain who served in Afghanistan — lived with PTSD afterwards. The message to those families is simple: we see you.
Coffee as a Way In
Veteran-led · volunteer-runCombat2Coffee was founded in Ipswich by veteran Nigel Seaman on a simple idea: good coffee gets people to sit down together, and sitting down together is how the hard conversations start. It’s volunteer-led, roasts sustainably sourced Brazilian coffee, and reinvests the profits straight back into the armed forces community.
The mission is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of serving personnel, veterans and their families.
The Morning In Numbers
Veteran-Founded, Giving Back
Close to homeMotion Wave Digital is veteran-founded. Before this was a consultancy, I spent ten years in the Royal Navy as a Clearance Diver. That’s not a marketing line — it’s why a morning like this lands the way it does. I know this community, and I know how much the recognition matters.
We talk a lot about brand being business. But a business doesn’t exist apart from the people around it. Giving back to a cause this close to home isn’t a campaign — it’s just the right thing to do. From the first coffee to the last conversation, we loved every moment. Thanks to Nigel, Terry and the whole Combat2Coffee team for having us.
Get behind Combat2Coffee

Support Combat2CoffeeTo the families who carry the weight of service — often in silence, and rarely in the spotlight: we see you.
Don’t sip in silence.
