We were brought in to redesign the wine labels for Dedham Vale Vineyard. Due to changing consumer habits and increased competition, we needed to increase sales.
The redesigned labels immediately transformed the range's look and feel. With a stronger, more cohesive identity.
The refreshed packaging has helped the team take the first step towards modernising the brand and strengthening trade appeal. This has been reflected by the increase in stock brought by wholesalers and venues.

Deep Dive:
The previous labels didn’t hold up against modern consumer expectations. They lacked visual impact, clarity, and a sense of place — all critical in an industry where packaging directly drives purchase decisions.
We rebuilt the label system from the ground up, focusing on three principles:
We brought through Dedham Vale’s heritage, including subtle regional nods and the character of Essex wine, to create labels that feel rooted and credible.
Designed to stand out on shelves, feel premium in-hand, and immediately communicate the varietal and positioning to buyers, sommeliers, and wholesalers.
Clean layouts, refined typography, and premium cues to match the vineyard’s quality and ambition.
The new label system completely reframed how Dedham Vale’s products were perceived. Early feedback from trade buyers was strong, with wholesalers and venues describing the wines as “more premium”, “easier to sell”, and “far more modern.”
A product range that looks commercially competitive
Stronger credibility when approaching wholesalers, farm shops, restaurants, and wedding/event venues
While our work focused on packaging, the label redesign became the first step in a much bigger brand shift for the vineyard. Under new ownership, Dedham Vale Vineyard is now continuing to build on this foundation by becoming more integrated with the local community, events, and tourism ecosystem
The long-term goal is to create a unified brand experience across every touchpoint, bottle, website, retail, events, and trade partnerships.
